CEE M&A and Private Equity Forum
27 April 2010, The Westin Hotel, Warsaw, Poland

Book Now

The impact that the recent economic crisis has had across the CEE region has varied immensely. Several countries received emergency bailouts from international financial bodies to prevent their wholesale economic collapse, whilst others have rode out the financial storm better than other conventionally more economically secure nations nearby.

This full-day forum will look at the effect that recent events have had on M&A and corporate finance activity, examining recent trends to provide in-depth analysis of the challenges faced in the region, and garner the opinions of the sector’s leading figures on what they think the future opportunities for dealmaking are.

Key questions to be addressed include:

  • What will be the impact of CEE privatisation programmes in 2010?
  • Have buyer and seller valuations aligned and what is the ongoing impact of fluctuating currency markets?
  • Focus on Energy – how is the sector reacting to market difficulties?
  • How are deals being structured and financed in the new era of dealmaking?
  • Private equity in a post-crisis world: what should firms be looking for?
  • CEE distressed debt – how is the region coping?
  • How will cross-border deal flow develop in the year ahead?

Confirmed speakers include:

  • Aleksander Grad, Minister of State for the Treasury of the Government of Poland Responsible for Privatisation
  • Tomasz Kwiecien, Managing Director, Mezzanine Management
  • Zbigniew Rekusz, Partner, Mid Europa Partners
  • Michael Havel, Managing Director, lifebrain Capital Partners Gmbh
