Giovanni Amodeo

Global Editor in Chief

In addition to managing Mergermarket’s global team of journalists, Giovanni’s responsibilities include seeking new growth areas, moderating and speaking at M&A events and hiring new talent. He also comments regularly about the markets on TV and gives academic lectures.

Previous experience

Giovanni joined Mergermarket in 2001 and has held a number of positions within the company, including Frankfurt Bureau Chief, Italian Correspondent, telecommunications, leisure and media reporter and research analyst, based in London. Prior to this, he worked with Commerzbank in Germany.

Education and Professional Memberships

Beranger Guille

Editor EMEA - Mergermarket

Based in London, Beranger leads a team of over 50 journalists in EMEA, from Norway to South Africa and Sierra Leone to Dubai. He is responsible for pioneering Mergermarket coverage into new territories while ensuring it remains ahead of the competition. Forward looking intelligence is key to Beranger’s understanding of the specific requirements of the diverse M&A markets across EMEA and forms the driver for shaping exclusive content for each region.

Previous experience

Beranger joined Mergermarket in 2005 to cover the French market. Prior to this, he undertook a training scheme with Bloomberg News and work experience with the FT and the Guardian.

Tom Cane

Managing Editor - Asia-Pacific

Tom heads both Mergermarket and Dealreporter’s editorial operations across Asia-Pacific, overseeing the products’ combined team of over 50 reporters across the region that specialize in M&A and capital markets coverage. As well as managing regional editors and hiring key staff, Tom is responsible for identifying new coverage areas. In 2012 he notably launched our successful ECM product.

Previous experience

Before becoming Dealreporter’s Asia editor in 2010, Tom was European deputy editor, where he headed ECM coverage and covered real estate and financial services. Prior to joining Mergermarket, Tom wrote on capital markets and private equity for a legal media organization in London.

Patricia Heiberger

Editor - Asia-Pacific

Patricia leads a team of more than 30 journalists across seven bureaus in the Asia-Pacific region. She ensures the team is first to report M&A developments and consolidation trends in the region. As well as guiding editorial coverage, she is responsible for hiring, training and mentoring talented journalists.

Previous experience

Before her appointment to this position, she was concurrently Assistant Editor and Bureau Chief for Southeast Asia, where she helped shore up coverage of core markets like Singapore and break into new ones like Indonesia, Vietnam and Myanmar.

Ben Rumble

Head of Sales - EMEA

As Mergermarket’s Head of Sales for the EMEA region, Ben applies his target-driven approach and detailed knowledge of the M&A process to driving sales and managing the EMEA sales team

Previous experience

Before he joined The Mergermarket Group in 2007, Ben spent three years as an Associate for Shield Corporate Finance where he specialized in sell side M&A.

Ajay Narang

Head of Sales - Asia-Pacific

Based in Hong Kong, Ajay is responsible for new business development, subscriber management and retention across Asia. He leads the Mergermarket sales team of 8 professionals in the fastest growing region for the Mergermarket Group globally.

Previous experience

Ajay joined Mergermarket in 2008 to cover the HK & India markets and helped launch MergerID in Asia. He has also worked at Thomson Reuters and was Sponsorship Manager for Greater China at one of the world’s largest event management companies, working on and managing over 150 events in Asia and Europe.

Elias Latsis

Head of Research

Managing a large global team of analysts, Elias is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the M&A deals database, including quality control, product development and advisory relationships.

Previous experience

Elias joined The Mergermarket Group in 2003 as a Merger Arbitrage Analyst for the Dealreporter team. Prior to this, he worked in investment banking as an analyst, specializing in M&A and business development with Morgan Stanley.
