Falling off September highs, European equity markets reacted negatively to the resignations of not just one, but two CEOs – Stanley O’Neal, CEO of Merrill Lynch, and Charles Prince, CEO of the world’s largest bank, Citigroup.The two announced their resignations within three days of each other at the beginning of November, having been held responsible for their respective banks’ poor Q3 performances, primarily attributable to the subprime crisis.
