November’s private equity comeback? As the credit crunch moves into its fifth month with no let-up in sight, investors remain nervous. Certainly, in both value and volume terms, November 2007 global M&A activity was down significantly on November 2006, from 212 deals worth $117bn to 133 worth $37bn. The somewhat gloomy November data, however, should not distract from a strong overall performance in the first eleven months of 2007, with $845bn of deal value registered globally compared to $709bn in 2006...
