Selling a Business: Sweden01 March 2008

The Swedish M&A market has grown significantly in both value and volume over the past five years. Furthermore, in 2007 the market reached a new peak in value terms of €27bn from 266 announced deals. The Swedish M&A market has also been largely dominated by mid market sized transactions, with deals below €250m accounting for 92% of all M&A deals brokered in 2007. With so many Swedish businesses changing hands in past years, this survey is an attempt to delve into some of the key drivers and considerations held by company owners and managers when selling their businesses in Sweden.
