In this our third edition of Deal Drivers UK, we at PKF commissioned mergermarket’s research and editorial staff to explore the current health of UK M&A across five key industry verticals using their comprehensive deal data. At the same time, mergermarket was again given access to our leading Corporate Finance partners across the six main regions. In the resulting interviews, they reveal their thoughts on the key upcoming challenges and opportunities over the second half of 2008 and beyond.

About PKF
The buyers’ market has arrived with sellers having to adjust to the new state of play in the UK M&A market. Despite last summer’s credit crunch, the UK market still accounted for over a quarter of overall M&A in Europe in H1 2008 in terms of the volume of deals taking place. Deal making in both the large cap and mid market has definitely slowed, however, compared to the heady heights of last year’s M&A boom, but the market remains highly active albeit more challenging than ever.
We hope you enjoy the third edition of this report and welcome your feedback.
