Turbulent but exciting times for M&A The edition of Insider could not be published without reference to Lehman’s recent bankruptcy and the string of deals in the Financial Services space. The US Government has certainly become an unwilling king pin overnight, sealing the fate of Lehman by refusing to bail it out, whilst saving American International Group for another day with an $85bn injection. It has been reported AIG was considered too big by the government to fail, and surely its downfall would have resulted in more chaos then is already taking hold at the moment.
