The publication of the report comes at a critical time as the global M&A market, and indeed the wider economy, begins to show signs of recovery just 12 months on from the acute onset of the global financial crisis. The survey results provide a detailed look into corporate deal makers' assessments, insights and sentiments on the state of the current market and the outlook for the future.
The survey results show that the wariness that gripped global markets in the autumn of last year is now giving way to cautious optimism. Indeed, nearly two thirds (66%) of those surveyed believe the macroeconomic environment in their region will improve in 2010, while 8% believe it will happen before the end of this year and a further 16% say it is already underway.
