During the first half of 2010, European M&A activity increased by 25.3% compared to the same period in the preceding year and totalled EUR182.70bn. This compares favourably with the US where M&A activity was down by 14.4% in comparison to the first half of 2009, with a total of EUR251bn worth of deals announced. Meanwhile, the Asia-Pacific region is going from strength to strength with almost EUR119.70bn worth of deals coming to market, an increase of close to 10% when compared to the same timeframe in 2009.
