Advising Ireland's Privately Owned Businesses28 September 2006

This is the inaugural edition of Advising Ireland’s Privately Owned Businesses. The report provides an insight into the attitudes and outlook of Ireland’s private company business leaders. It features an impartial and detailed analysis of the sentiment of company owners in Ireland towards the current business climate.

The report comprises a detailed survey of Directors of privately-owned businesses, typically with an annual turnover of between €5M - €150M, as well as related articles and case-studies from our leading industry sponsors.

The survey analyses the views and opinions of business leaders on the major issues and trends facing their firms today; the factors influencing their opinions and decision making; and an exploration of their future strategic intentions and expectations. Ireland’s economy has outperformed the wider Eurozone in terms of GDP growth in recent years. The impressive level of growth experienced in Ireland is attributable in the main to the strength of the Irish service sector. Additionally, according to Eurostat, Ireland’s unemployment rate is only 4.4% which compares very favourably to 7.8% in the whole Eurozone in July 2006.
