After its best ever year, private equity in European M&A remains very big news. According to mergermarket data, buyout deals accounted for almost a quarter of the overall M&A value and volume in 2006. Meanwhile, compared to the previous year, the level of buyouts increased by 50% to over EUR 250bn in 2006. At the same time deal volumes continued to grow steadily....
